About the Role

This is a full-time ongoing position within the Cardiology Department of the Royal Children's Hospital.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual who is keen to share their knowledge for the advancement of our clinical program and to contribute positively to the departmental culture in a world-leading paediatric Cardiology centre.

The primary role involves working in our busy paediatric Echocardiography Laboratory undertaking specific duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Performing detailed paediatric cardiac ultrasound examinations of the highest quality
  • Completion of a detailed and accurate preliminary report resulting from the examination
  • The opportunity to assist/conduct 3D cardiac ultrasounds, transoesophageal echocardiography, contrast studies, strain/strain rate imaging
  • Provide hands-on training to Cardiac Physiologists new to the field of echocardiography, and also to Cardiology Fellows commencing their Fellowship
  • Participate in a variety of research studies
Your Skills and Experience
  • A Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a health science discipline
  • Be registered with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) as an Accredited Medical Sonographer, with current enrolment in a certified CPD program
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • An understanding of the need to deliver high-quality care to our paediatric patients and their families
