Procurement Specialist

BlueScope is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join the Operations & Supply Chain team based in Adelaide.

This division of BlueScope manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions, and services through various brands.

As a Procurement Specialist, you will support critical purchasing activities impacting customers, sites, and commercial outcomes.

You will be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and achieving great procurement outcomes.

  • Process and manage purchase orders for consumables, materials, and stock across multiple sites.
  • Track and follow up orders, keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Review and convert requisitions, maintain accurate records and data.
  • Liaise daily with suppliers, transport, stores, scheduling, and internal teams.
  • Analyze, resolve, and communicate purchasing issues and supplier queries.
  • Monitor supplier service quality through vendor ratings and accounts payable.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including supporting the transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (ERP).

Requirements:

  • Experience in operations, manufacturing, or a similar fast-paced setting.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office tools and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service approach.
  • Experience or interest in growing your purchasing skills within the building, steel, or industrial sectors.
