Job Title: Financial Markets Risk in Change Leader

We're working with BeathChapman Pte Ltd to source for a talented Operational Risk & Compliance professional to join their 1LoD Financial Markets team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing change being delivered by Projects across the end-to-end value chain in the Global Financial Markets business unit.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Represent the 1LoD on change projects to ensure risks are appropriately identified and addressed whilst ensuring business objectives are met.
  2. Document and assess the design effectiveness of controls which capture any regulatory changes, and the impact of change is appropriately assessed within the risk & compliance appetite; ensure process documentation is sufficient to ensure seamless delivery into BAU.
  3. Ensure appropriate monitoring controls and KRIs are implemented to provide ongoing oversight of operating effectiveness.
  4. Provide 1LoD input to issue prioritisation and remediation, undertaking incident management and risk reporting when required.
  5. Establish a risk aware and safe escalation culture within Projects, collaborating across 1LoD and 2LoD to ensure all compliance obligations relevant to Financial Markets are incorporated into business unit compliance plans and supported by robust compliance processes.
  6. Ensure Projects meet the minimum requirements for managing operational risk in Projects, including completion of the Risk Control Matrix.
  7. Lead and supervise a small team of risk managers when required.

Skill Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience of Operational Risk & Controls in Institutional Banking / Financial Markets (including those gained overseas) - from either 1/2/3LoD.
  2. Capability to assess operational risks, design/test adequate controls and assist with implementation as a 1LoD function.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide advice/recommendation on the design effectiveness of controls.
  4. Outstanding ability to verbalise complex operational risk language to business leaders to make sure key messages are delivered and comprehended.
  5. Pragmatic and self-motivated Risk Leader who's willing to get their hands dirty.
  6. Knowledge/experience in global-scale regulatory reforms (i.e. MiFID, Initial Margin CFTC, GDR) gained in Australia or overseas is highly desirable.
