Medical Officer Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering primary medical care to patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible health outcomes.

Job Description:
  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients in accordance with professional standards and legislation.
  • Work as part of a team to assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty and provide medical advice.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver primary medical care to patients.
  2. Assess Defence personnel for fitness for duty.
  3. Provide medical advice to the Joint Health Unit Commanding Officer, Joint Health Command Health Centre Manager, and unit commanders.
Requirements:
  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner, General in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM).
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time post-graduate general practitioner experience in a general practice setting within the last 5 years.
