Community Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on building meaningful relationships between the City and its communities.

About the Role

The Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality engagement across diverse projects. This includes representing the City at events and engagement activities, advising project teams on planning and delivering effective engagement, and promoting inclusive participation through diverse engagement methods.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or Social Sciences
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver contemporary engagement methodologies across diverse projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing detailed reports and engaging a wide range of stakeholders
  • A sound understanding of cultural diversity and inclusion principles, with a commitment to equitable and respectful engagement
  • A current Driver's Licence and registration to Work with Vulnerable People
