The Role

We're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our aquatics team on a casual basis. As a Swim Instructor, you'll be responsible for developing student knowledge and safety awareness in the aquatic environment. You'll teach swimming techniques and skills, and provide a positive and engaging experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to participants in the swim school program, focusing on safety and positive reinforcement.
  • Teach from lesson plans, ensuring consistency and quality in lessons.
  • Maintain positive interactions with customers and parents, directing enquiries to the supervisor.

Selection Criteria
  • Current Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or equivalent.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR).
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Paid Working with Children Check.
  • A high level of customer service delivery skills.
  • Energy and enthusiasm, and a desire to help people.
  • Ability to problem solve and work within a team environment.
  • Prior experience in a customer service facing role.
  • Experience interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A strong customer service orientation and strong work ethic.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours, inclusive of before and after working hours, as well as weekends.
  • Have a good understanding of responsibilities under the National Child Safe Standards and have a strong commitment to advocating for and protecting children.
