Role Overview:

In the capacity of an Electrical Service Engineer, your primary responsibilities will encompass the upkeep, diagnosis, and repair of EV charging stations and solar PV systems. You will also be instrumental in aiding the installation teams, offering expert advice, and ensuring that service excellence is maintained. This position demands a combination of technical know-how and customer service acumen, as you will represent the company during client interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct routine maintenance, assessments, and repairs on EV charging stations and solar PV systems to guarantee peak performance.
  2. Identify and rectify technical challenges associated with electrical systems, PV arrays, inverters, and EV chargers.
  3. Support the installation team with intricate setups, ensuring compliance with industry standards and proper installation practices.
  4. Engage effectively with clients to elucidate issues, propose solutions, and outline maintenance needs, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  5. Adhere to industry regulations, health and safety protocols, and company policies in all work performed.
  6. Maintain comprehensive records of service activities, including repair reports, parts utilized, and client communications.
  7. Offer mentorship and training to junior engineers and installation personnel, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge exchange.
  8. Stay informed about industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices within the renewable energy domain.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation, alongside 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical sector, with at least 2 years focused on renewables, particularly EV charging and/or solar PV systems.
  3. City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) certification.
  4. Strong comprehension of electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, and grid connections.
  5. Possession of a full, clean UK driving license.
  6. In-depth knowledge of EV charging systems, PV installations, and related electrical infrastructure.
  7. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities, capable of resolving complex issues in the field.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to convey technical information clearly to clients and colleagues.
  9. High level of precision in work, with a commitment to quality and safety.
  10. Dedicated to providing outstanding service and fostering strong client relationships.
  11. Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to a team environment.
