About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Domestic Services Assistant to join our team at VMCH. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environment
  • Clean residents' rooms, including ensuites, furniture, and equipment, as appropriate, and communal and administrative areas
  • Ensure common living areas, hallways, and all other areas of the facility are maintained in a clean and tidy and safe condition
  • Manage the safe storage, security, and labelling of cleaning materials in line with the MSDS, and in consultation with the Residential Services Manager
  • Replenish cleaning liquids and materials while observing safety procedures
  • Report stock shortages, breakages, building, equipment, or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services Manager

Requirements

  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees, and volunteers
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • Well-developed prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality
  • Commitment to work as part of a team
