About the Role

The Aquatic Programs Supervisor is a key position at Victoria University's Footscray Park Campus, responsible for developing and administering water-based programs at the Aquatic and Fitness Centre. This role oversees both staff and programs, working closely with the Sport Facility Coordinator to shape the overall direction of the aquatic area within the facilities.

As the primary contact for internal departments and external organisations, the Aquatic Programs Supervisor fosters partnerships and develops programs to ensure maximum benefits to VU staff, students, and the general community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, supervise, and monitor all Aquatic Programs, including Learn to Swim, School's Swim, and Community Aquatic programs, to ensure they are professionally delivered and meet industry standards.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise casual swim teachers and work placement students, providing guidance and support consistent with VU's policies and procedures.
About You

The ideal candidate for this role has well-developed written and oral communication skills, with great attention to detail. They will need to work effectively and cooperatively with other team members, demonstrating leadership when working with their team, work area, and staff at different levels across the University to accomplish joint tasks.

Part of this role is working with and developing relationships with new and existing client groups, requiring sophisticated client management skills. The Supervisor needs to effectively equip team members with information, instruction, training, and supervision to enable them to work safely, as well as empowering them to effectively service the client base with aquatic programs.

What We Offer

This is a full-time fixed-term position at a HEP 5 classification, with a salary range of $73,852 - $84,831 per annum, plus 17% superannuation, and a classification working 36.75 hours per week.
