About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team at George Weston Foods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and conduct root cause analysis to implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with production staff to ensure seamless operations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Participate in plant improvements and projects to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to track maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Requirements
  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g. Mechanical Fitter & Turner)
  • Restricted Electrical licence (Desirable)
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing, and maintaining Flour Milling equipment
  • Relevant licences and tickets e.g. Confined space, Forklift, Working at heights, Elevated work platform (Desirable)
  • Strong communication skills with an all-inclusive approach to dealing with peers and operations personnel at all levels in the business
