Payroll Operations Manager for Global Food Technology

Based in our Sydney campus, the Payroll Operations Manager will play a crucial role in managing and processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for our global operations across Australia and New Zealand.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Process and manage end-to-end payroll on a weekly, fortnightly, and monthly basis for approximately 1250+ employees across three entities, including those under various awards.
- Help mentor and manage the workload of the payroll team under the direction of the Payroll Lead ANZ.
- Process and audit Superannuation, Child Support, PAYG payments, Kiwisaver, PAYE, and Student loan deductions.
- Prepare payroll end-of-period reconciliations, reports, and accruals (including leave calculations).
- Prepare and lodge accurate monthly payroll tax returns for relevant states.
- Perform other ad-hoc analyses as required (e.g., benefits analysis, WGEA reporting, other regulatory reporting).
- Prepare final payment calculations, workers' compensation, and other ad-hoc pay calculations.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation and Modern Awards.
- Provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact for payroll queries.
- Regularly review the payroll team's workload and assign secondary duties to ensure cross-training within the team.
- Partner with various cross-functional stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high-volume end-to-end payroll processing.
- Experience and knowledge of Modern Awards, preferably the Food, Beverage, and Tobacco Manufacturing Award and Storage Services and Wholesale Award.
- Experience in ADP Payforce, ADP Realtime (Kronos Workforce Ready) is highly regarded but not essential.
- A good working knowledge of end-to-end payroll and its complexities.
- A strong analytical background and proficient Excel skills, including the use of Vlookups, Pivot tables, etc.
- Working knowledge of month-end reconciliations and period-end reporting/accruals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with both an autonomous and a team player attitude.

We offer a competitive salary range of AUD 90,000 - AUD 110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits. Please note that the salary range is based on industry standards and market conditions in the Sydney area.
