Role Summary
The Childcare Room Leader is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of children and staff within the Pre-School Room.
This role requires a relevant Australian diploma level qualification or equivalent, and 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop, implement and document an Educational program/curriculum for the children.
- Provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children to learn and grow.
- Care for the day-to-day needs of the children, including their physical and emotional well-being.
- Guide, support, direct and supervise staff, students and volunteers working within the room to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Delegate tasks effectively to staff, plan engaging activities for the group, organize equipment and materials, observe children's behavior and guide their social development.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment, keep accurate records and reports, and stay up-to-date with current thinking and practice in early childhood education.
- Liaise with families, promote positive relationships, and cooperate with other staff members.
Requirements:
- Australian diploma level qualification or equivalent in Early Childhood Education.
- 3 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
- Working with Children Check and clear character record.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to plan, implement and document a curriculum that meets the educational needs of children.
- Familiarity with regulations, policies and procedures related to early childhood education.
- Effective delegation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
