About the Role

BaptistCare HopeStreet is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Transformational Leader to join our team. This leadership position plays a vital role in supporting the team to provide integrated, holistic wrap-around support to vulnerable and marginalized communities.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a Counselling and/or community-based Case Worker role, with a strong understanding of mental health, trauma-informed care, and child protection. They will be able to work within an integrated approach that is person-centred and includes strengths-based and narrative practices.

Responsibilities
  • Provide team leadership and oversight of a multidisciplinary team, including students and volunteers.
  • Demonstrate, promote, and support BaptistCare's values, guided by our theories and principles of best practice.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to thrive in dynamic and diverse community environments, and adapt to new challenges and opportunities with ease.

Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Community Services, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working in a Counselling &/or community-based Case Worker role.
  • Mental Health First Aid accreditation, Trauma Informed Care training (or willingness to participate in training).
  • Child Protection training/knowledge/experience.
  • Ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with women from CALD backgrounds (sex workers, DV, LGBT+ communities) or individuals who may be experiencing complex concerns.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare's Christian identity and enthusiastically promote the organisation's values through every interaction at work.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to obtain a first aid certificate.
