The organization has invested heavily in its mental health services, with significant capital works underway to upgrade and expand its facilities. This includes the development of a new acute inpatient unit, extended care inpatient unit, prevention and recovery center, and community-based units.
Salary and BenefitsWe are offering a highly competitive salary package up to $490,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes a 76-hour fortnight, flexible working arrangements, and a range of benefits such as:
- A generous annual professional development allowance of $29,000
- Lucrative shift allowances
- Annual leave, professional development leave, and other entitlements
- A full relocation package, including accommodation support upon arrival
This senior psychiatry consultant position offers an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team providing clinical assessment and treatment to patients with complex mental health needs. As a key member of the team, you will provide secondary consultation, guidance, and advice to other healthcare professionals and settings. You will also have the opportunity to participate in quality improvement activities, education, and supervision of junior medical colleagues.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- FRCRANZCP or equivalent sub-specialty qualifications and/or experience in older persons psychiatry
- Excellent teamwork, collaborative, and communication capabilities
- Knowledge of contemporary models of care
- Clinical experience relevant to the practice of clinical psychiatry of older age psychiatry across a broad range of bed- and community-based mental health services
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research
- Ability to provide supervision to clinical staff and participate in internal education programs
- Commitment to professional development
- Willingness and ability to undertake continuous quality improvement projects
- A commitment to ethical medical practice
- Willingness to be on an on-call roster
