Lead Android Developer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Android Developer to develop and maintain high-quality software applications for Android and Android TV.

About the Role
  • Perform autonomous analysis, design and development of complex, reusable components and functionality for a range of uses across various digital properties.
  • Take accountability for technical documentation, ensuring all development work undertaken is properly documented and maintainable.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices in mobile development and communicate them to other development team members, fostering implementation of best practices throughout development teams.
About You
  • Extensive experience developing scalable, complex and high-performing applications in Kotlin.
  • A strong focus on clean, testable and tested code.
  • Keen to follow modern core Android technologies, especially within Jetpack Components.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Coroutines, Compose, Gradle and Hilt, as well as Arrow, Kotest, Media3, REST, GraphQL, GitLab, Datadog and Firebase.
  • Excellent development skills, with demonstrated experience developing complex, secure and high-performance software for various application platforms and devices.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in assessing, selecting and using modern frameworks and build tools, implementing automated/unit testing, and version control branching, merging and versioning strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership within a development team and representing that team in discussions with other business areas.
  • Excellent skills in planning and prioritizing projects and tasks, delivering with a high attention to detail while working under pressure to tight deadlines.
