About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Academic Sessional to join our team at the University of Notre Dame Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and coordinating tutorials and simulation laboratories in the Bachelor of Nursing Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct lectures and theoretical tutorials to the standard of the Faculty, preparing lesson plans and facilitating group discussions.
  • Consult with students on readings, weekly topics, and assessment.
  • Mark and provide feedback on assessment activities.
  • Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
  • Manage short-term extension requests in line with University policy.
  • Identify students at risk through thorough tutorial attendance recording.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Registered Nurse (Div. 1) in Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing or education are desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity, and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
  • Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathize with students.
  • Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
