Griffith University and Gold Coast Health are partnering to recruit an Associate Professor or Professor of Midwifery to lead the School of Nursing and Midwifery. This joint appointment offers a unique opportunity to combine academic leadership with clinical practice, driving innovation and excellence in midwifery education, research, and practice.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished midwifery academic to provide strategic leadership and vision for the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research, teaching, and clinical practice, with a demonstrated ability to attract and manage research funding, develop productive research collaborations, and contribute to the development of midwifery education and practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic leadership and vision for the School of Nursing and Midwifery, driving innovation and excellence in midwifery education, research, and practice.
  • Develop and implement research strategies to attract and manage research funding, and to develop productive research collaborations.
  • Contribute to the development of midwifery education and practice, including curriculum development, teaching, and clinical supervision.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, academics, and research students to develop and implement research projects and programs.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff, students, and stakeholders to achieve the School's goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Doctoral qualification in midwifery or a related area.
  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as a midwife or the ability to apply and obtain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clinicians, academics, and research students.
  • A strong track record of research, teaching, and clinical practice, with a demonstrated ability to attract and manage research funding.
What We Offer

Griffith University and Gold Coast Health offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary range of $159,740-$175,985 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $186,895-$205,902. We also offer relocation support, start-up funds, and visa sponsorship for the right candidate.
