Work Health Specialist Role

The Work Health Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of employees and contractors at our mine site.

This position involves assisting with the day-to-day activities and administration related to Work Health & Safety (WHS) on site, focusing on promoting a safe working environment and fostering a culture of excellence.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating health and hygiene monitoring programs to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Supporting health and safety contractor activities for surface and underground operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in incident investigations, analyzing trends and advising management on improvements to reduce incidents.
  • Maintaining the site Mine Safety Management System (MSMS) to track and analyze safety performance.
  • Promoting safety management systems and facilitating safety consultations, communication, and onboarding of new employees and contractors.

In order to succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant WHS certifications (minimum Cert 4 WHS, HLTPAT005).
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Excellent communication, literacy, and MS Office skills.
  • Experience with INX database and previous experience working in a gold mine environment.
