Senior Legal Counsel Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as Senior Legal Counsel. As a key member of our legal and compliance team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal and regulatory advice to ensure compliance with Australian gambling laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal and regulatory advice on Australian gambling laws, including the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, state-based wagering regulations, and AML/CTF Act.
  • Develop and implement compliance strategies to adhere to regulatory requirements, including safer gambling, AML/CTF, and consumer protection standards.
  • Oversee AML/CTF compliance, including customer due diligence (CDD), know-your-customer (KYC) processes, and suspicious matter reporting to AUSTRAC.
  • Ensure adherence to the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), including data handling, retention, and breach response processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent and admission to practice as a lawyer in Australia or a relevant jurisdiction.
  • 6–10+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE), with a strong focus on gambling law, regulatory compliance, or related fields.
