Job Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled professional to lead analysis and modelling of aviation risk and safety data, working closely with Defence stakeholders to interpret requirements and shape solutions.

This role supports the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) in maintaining and evolving SALAS, the central live repository for hazards and risks across ADF flying operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading analysis and modelling of aviation risk and safety data
  • Working closely with Defence stakeholders to interpret requirements and shape solutions
  • Providing guidance on data governance and integration across ICT platforms
  • Creating reports, dashboards and database structures that support operational insight
  • Advising on continuous improvement in data presentation and structure
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Comfortable working with data modelling, analysis and structured reporting
  • A confident communicator who can engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Familiar with secure or Defence environments, or willing to learn
  • Focused on practical outcomes and understanding how data supports decision-making
  • Experienced with tools like PowerBI, SQL Server, or similar
  • Able to work independently and adapt to changing priorities

This role is Canberra-based and you'll play a key role in supporting DASA's mission to protect and improve the safety of Defence aviation operations.
