About the Role

The Arboriculture Instructor is a key position at Melbourne Polytechnic, responsible for delivering high-quality education and training in Arboriculture courses. This role requires a skilled professional with expertise in Arboriculture and experience in teaching and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To teach approved recurrent and industry programs including Certificate III and Diploma of Arboriculture skills programs.
  • To assist in the development and delivery of Arboriculture programs.
  • To meet, assess and enrollment of intending students.
  • To provide interim and annual reports of student results.
  • To identify resource requirements.
  • To continually maintain class attendance rolls in compliance within the Institute quality guidelines.
  • To respond to enquiries regarding courses and training.
  • To select, safely use and maintain appropriate equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree, diploma or certificate relevant in both content and academic level and industry level experience relevant to the Arboriculture field.
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • A thorough knowledge of current industry practices and procedures with a demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Arboriculture Industry.
  • A current Working with Children Check (Employee) and workplace certificate in High Risk Work.
  • Ability to teach and facilitate the delivery of specialist Arboriculture subjects and related courses to groups which may have a diverse range of abilities, backgrounds and readiness.
  • Excellent machinery operational skills essential.
