Senior Technical Artist – Rigging

Our organization is seeking a seasoned Technical Artist to spearhead the development of 3D models and characters.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the programming and art teams, guided by the Art Director, to create tools and build an efficient graphics pipeline that streamlines the creative process.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and maintaining rigs for characters, creatures, and objects using expertise in rigging principles and software proficiency in Maya.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality rigs that meet artistic and technical requirements while adhering to project timelines and production schedules.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as modellers and animators, to ensure rigs are intuitive, efficient, and easy to animate, troubleshooting any technical issues that may arise.
  • Working with artists and technicians to achieve the project's desired result in Unreal Engine, analyzing constraints and needs, and defining technical directives.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine Tools and 3D Tools (Maya, 3Ds Max, ZBrush, Blender, Substance).
  • Knowledge of Python, dotnet/C#, and device limitations and challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to all project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modelling, Texturing, Shading, Lighting, Rendering, Skinning, Rigging, VFX, and Animation.
