Key Responsibilities

  • Electronics diagnostic and repair tasks are performed on production electronic components and subassemblies. Technicians may be instructed to perform repairs.
  • Root cause analysis is conducted on failed materials at incoming goods, production failures, and customer returns to determine corrective actions.
  • Production team support is provided by offering technical expertise to minimize stoppages and meet targets through daily updates and training sessions.
  • Before use, the suitability of production jigs and equipment is verified.
  • The first production batch of new or modified components or assemblies is inspected.
  • New products entering production are implemented and trained on.
  • New products are assessed for manufacturability and design changes, production processes, suppliers, and equipment recommendations are made to R&D for scaled manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing processes are researched and evaluated for their potential to meet production goals; suppliers are engaged with and collaborative relationships are built.
  • Continuous improvement and change management within the production team is driven by troubleshooting systemic issues and advising on process improvements with R&D.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. A bachelor's degree in mechatronics, electronics engineering, or computer systems is required, along with 4+ years of experience in a similar role and industry.
  2. Established professional relationships with relevant suppliers such as PCBA, BON, and Test Fixture providers are necessary.
  3. Experience in assembling and fabricating advanced electronic products is required.
  4. The ability to operate and learn to operate equipment from suppliers related to Level Tables, Dispensing, PCBA, and Motion Simulators is necessary.
  5. A quick learner capable of developing deep technical skills in challenging domains is essential.
  6. Experience in measuring and reporting production metrics is required.
  7. A basic knowledge of software (Java, C, C++), electronics, and mechanical design processes is necessary.
  8. Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and debugging skills are essential.
  9. Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate technical documentation are required.
  10. A highly motivated individual with an energetic, responsive, and decisive attitude is necessary.
  11. Knowledge of WHS practices is required.

The successful candidate will be able to work closely with the project manager, purchasing, production engineers, R&D, and the production manager to ensure scalability is considered from the start.
