Job Title: Consultant Cardiac Anaesthetist

 

Overview:

A highly experienced Cardiac Anaesthetist is sought to collaborate with a dynamic team in a well-supported environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in providing anaesthesia services for cardiac and general surgical cases, including trauma, neuro, vascular, obstetrics, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive anaesthesia services for cardiac and general surgical cases across a diverse caseload.
  • Perform and interpret transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE).
  • Participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in an inclusive on-call roster.
  • Collaborate with a high-performing, research-active, and education-focused team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent qualification.
  • Possess subspecialty training and experience in cardiac anaesthesia.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in intraoperative TOE.
  • Have recent tertiary hospital experience (desirable).
  • Be registered as a specialist with AHPRA, or eligible as an IMG under the specialist pathway.
