Preservation Manager for Digital Media Assets

Key Responsibilities
The Preservation Manager for Digital Media Assets will be responsible for the preservation of our audio and video collection, ensuring that it remains accessible and usable over time.
This involves overseeing various preservation activities, including assessment, handling, and digitisation of fragile historic audio and video items. You will also be responsible for ingesting digitised items and files from in-house and outsourcing digitisation projects, as well as liaising with clients and stakeholders to provide advice on audio-visual digitisation.
Additionally, you will have ongoing responsibility for rare and fragile material, providing training and support to staff on complex audio preservation and restoration activities, and assisting with the development of procedures pertaining to the preservation of the audio collection.
A working knowledge of media asset management systems/databases and digital archiving software is highly desirable, as is experience with handling and digitising a variety of different audio archival formats. A working knowledge of various audio software platforms, tools, and monitoring equipment would also be an advantage.
