About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join the College Leadership Team as a Dean of Student Support.

This is a key leadership position that will see you working in close partnership with your Associate Principal Line Manager to collaboratively lead the Student Support Team's successful implementation of key aspects of the College Business and Operational Plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional leadership and direction to a team of Associate Deans of Student Support, Student Support Clerical Staff, Nurse, Chaplain, Youth Workers, AIEO, Defence force mentor and two Psychologists.
  • Work collaboratively with the other Deans to support the implementation of college programs and initiatives ensuring that members of both teams work effectively together when needed.
  • Strategically lead and develop the team ensuring a collaborative, proactive approach that will further improve student behaviour, attendance and enhance the ongoing development of a positive ethos and culture across the College.
  • Oversee the Student Support Operational Budget and ensure that resources are allocated and used effectively to best meet the needs of students and staff.
Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings.
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes.
  • Demonstrated professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage physical and financial resources.
