Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Chef and Cook to join our team at Melbourne Mirchi Indian Restaurant.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Indian cuisine, with a strong focus on curries and tandoori dishes. They will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to the menu, as well as maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food according to the menu
• Experience in Tandoor oven and bulk Indian cooking
• Proper seasoning of food during cooking
• Plating and garnishing food prior to service
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• Plan menus with management
• Estimate product requirement for the following day
• Coordinate with kitchen staff, supervise staff, and train staff if necessary
• Examining the quality of food on a daily basis
• Proper check and maintenance of all kitchen equipment
• Select and train kitchen staff
• Regulating temperatures on ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
• Proper cleaning of the kitchen

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Indian cuisine
• Experience in Tandoor oven and bulk Indian cooking
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
