About the RoleNavantia Australia is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Superintendent to join its AOR Program team at the Garden Island, Rockingham office. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising subcontractors and OEMs performing maintenance service activities.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Ship Maintenance Manager in matters related to the maintenance management of the AOR Platforms.
- Assist the Engineering Team to investigate and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct Technical Engineering Investigations, including triage of maintenance defects related reports.
- Conduct Technical Risk Assessments, including reporting to facilitate updating of the Technical Risk Register.
- Conduct/oversee System Safety Engineering Activities related to mechanical systems.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Engineering Changes.
- Develop Work Instructions and participate in the preparation of Work Packs, including working with assigned subcontractors for the review of SWMS's and ITP's.
- Ensure assigned subcontractors follow the required safety and environmental requirements in regards to isolations and work/high-risk permits.
- Manage/oversee subcontractors undertaking mechanical maintenance services, including managing safety, cost, schedule, quality, and technical requirements to ensure all services are delivered as contracted.
- Prepare AOR Plans and Reports as required by the Maintenance Planning Manager.
- Support the Ship Maintenance Manager in the selection and engagement of subcontractors.
- Assist the Ship Maintenance Manager in preparing and supporting AOR cost Budgets.
- Manage and coordinate the test and trials processes related to platform systems.
- Review and verify the completeness of all OQE associated with assigned work packages.
- Assist in the closure of completed work packages in AMPS.
- Minimum Trade Qualified, with relevant supervising experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Proven skills and experience in leading contracted planned maintenance and breakdown activities.
- Experience within a Marine environment, preferably in the Defence Sector.
- Excellent technical skills in marine systems.
- Very strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business and with all stakeholders.
- Mandatory participation in the URDEF on-call roster.
- Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance.
