Job Title

A Trades Assistant is required to join our production team at Goombungee. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and be responsible for cutting, drilling, screwing materials and/or components in preparation for the production process and assisting in the assembly and fabrication of agricultural products to safety, quality and time specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Follow work orders and production schedules or job instructions and specifications.
  2. Mark-out, cut/drill/punch holes as directed in steel components and assemblies.
  3. Layout, position, align and assemble components together as instructed.
  4. Mechanical cutting of steel.
  5. Label and sort manufactured components and assemblies into product groups
  6. Move steel in workshop with overhead crane and forklift (where licensed and authorized)
  7. Transfer fabricated components between production departments as instructed.
  8. Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of work areas and site work areas, equipment, tools and facilities.
  9. Safely and efficiently undertake other duties as instructed by Supervisor.
  10. Perform general site works as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Driver's Licence;
  • Flexible approach and cooperative team attitude;
  • Willingness to take undertake on-the-job training;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Genuine passion for manufacturing;
  • Ability to take initiative;
  • Forklift Licence (desirable).
