About the Role

Hall Contracting Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join our team on a range of marine projects across the Pacific Islands. This is an excellent opportunity to work on exciting projects in beautiful tropical locations such as Fiji, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, and the Solomon Islands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify reliability issues and improvements to machines and systems.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs and record keeping through our digital system.
  • Respond to and address equipment breakdowns in a timely manner with access to digital manuals and maintenance planners.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to a wide range of machinery.
  • Adhere to all OHS Policies and Procedures at all times with digital access to forms and procedures to ensure safety is not compromised.
About You
  • Heavy Diesel or Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate.
  • Post-trade experience with civil construction equipment (excavators, moxy, dozers, graders, etc.).
  • Experience with Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, or Caterpillar machines is beneficial.
  • Experience with marine equipment (vessels, workboats, barges, dredges) is highly regarded but not essential.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as pumps, would be advantageous.
  • Experience in component rebuilds of engines, transmissions, and hydraulic components is beneficial.
  • Self-driven, reliable, and highly interested in the mechanical trades.
