Delivering a national Indigenous science project requires acknowledging Australia's rich cultural heritage and history. As an Indigenous Research Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the initiative.
About the ProjectThis is a meaningful opportunity for someone with strong coordination and communication skills who is passionate about Indigenous-led research and contributing to change in Australia's science sector.
- Provide high-level coordination and administrative support for a national Indigenous Science initiative.
- Coordinate work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reference groups and advisory groups.
- Assist in building trusted relationships with Indigenous communities and knowledge holders.
- Support respectful, co-designed science and engagement processes.
You will provide coordination, administrative, and project management support across all stages of the initiative. You will also assist in building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders, and organisations.
- Coordinate the operation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander reference and advisory groups.
- Support the development of culturally appropriate data practices by promoting awareness of Indigenous Data Sovereignty.
