Job Summary

The Senior Director of Facilities will oversee the management of a diverse property portfolio, ensuring the functional capability of properties, maintenance, operation, and integrity of building systems. This includes:

  • Managing operations budgets and transitioning properties from development to operating phase.
  • Leading a team of facilities management staff to support the portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the facilities management team, ensuring effective leadership and management of facilities management staff, maintenance personnel, and contractors.
  • Facilities Management: Oversee the functional capability of properties, including maintenance, operation, and integrity of building systems.
  • Operations Budget Management: Manage operations budgets and ensure effective financial management of the portfolio.
  • Transition and Handover: Ensure smooth transition and handover of properties from development to operating phase.
  • Team Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of facilities management staff.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, tenants, and employees.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
  • Certification: Certification in facilities management is a plus.
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive facilities management experience, including leadership and management of facilities management teams.
  • Skills: Technical education and hands-on experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing design, and other building support systems; proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, CMMS, and BAS; ability to read and understand building plans and specifications.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven ability to hire, train, develop, coach, manage, reward, and lead multiple direct reports.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, tenants, and employees.
