Bechtel has a rich history of helping customers complete complex projects in challenging locations around the world.

We are currently seeking an Electrical Field Engineer to join our team on a project in Karratha, Australia.

  • Act as point of contact for coordination and resolution of technical issues related to E&I contractors on site.
  • Develop / review work packages in support of the construction schedule.
  • Prepare construction drawings and sketches.
  • Initiate requisitions for field purchases.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
  • Verify installed commodities in the field and input in the Project quantity tracking system.
  • E nsure zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Develop firm understanding of system and area scoping.
  • Review and approve inspection test plans.
  • Coordinate reviews of subcontractor submittals.
  • Verify installations against relevant standards, specifications and design drawings.
  • Trouble-shooting the design and resolving issues with engineering and/or fabricator using formal field documentation processes.
  • Lead preparation of construction drawings and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensure preparation and review of 'as built' drawings.
  • Complete system walk-downs, deficiency tracking, and close-out in support of the Project turnover works.
  • Function as the lead discipline E&I field engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the jobsite.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. They will also possess knowledge of electrical and/or instrumentation engineering and construction methods, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
