Job Overview
The role of Construction Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of all aspects of our construction activities for our QLD Rail Systems team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and stage construction work, both greenfield and brownfield in an operating railway environment.
  • Interface with other management and engineering functions.
  • Ensure enough resources (personnel, plant and equipment) are provided on all projects. Forecast future resource requirements and assist with onboarding of new starters.
  • Monitor physical and financial progress of work in the construction phase and assist with forecasting.
  • Provide leadership, direction, supervision and inspirational management to all team members (direct & indirect).
  • Ensure construction activities are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, cost, and ensure schedule deadlines are met.
  • Undertake construction administration including roster management and delegate responsibilities as required.

Requirements:
  • Extensive experience managing electrical construction activities on project sites within the Rail or Transport sector.
  • Experience gained in the rail, signalling, train control and other safety-critical environments is highly regarded.
  • Places a high priority on developing others.
  • Understands key financial indicators.
  • Is able to attract and build effective teams.
