Bush Heritage Australia, a leading national not-for-profit organisation, is seeking an experienced Conservation Manager to join our team at Pilungah Reserve in Central West Queensland. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a real contribution to the protection of Australia's unique wildlife and their habitat.
We are looking for someone with general rural maintenance skills, including fencing, water supply, road maintenance, and basic steel and timber fabrication skills. Experience working on bushfire containment and planned burns is essential. As a team player, you will be able to see the bigger picture and have an aptitude to improvise and think on your feet.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a leading conservation organisation, contributing to long-term landscape scale impact. You will be responsible for managing and working in collaboration with Ecologists and other non-reserve staff to contribute to the management and operation of Pilungah and Ethabuka reserves.
The position is based at Pilungah Reserve, which offers a remote location with periods of high temperatures and isolation during wet weather. Workers' quarters with essentials are provided on site.
We offer a competitive salary of $64,362 - $78,664 per annum, plus superannuation. In addition to a sound salary, we provide access to 20 days personal leave per year, 10 of which are available from commencement. We also offer cultural leave and gender transition leave.
We believe that great life-work balance is essential. Our flexible work arrangements include hybrid working, allowing you to balance your work and personal life effectively. We also support employee resource groups for women, LGBTQIA+, and neurodivergent employees, as well as a social group for bird lovers.
If you're passionate about nature conservation and want to make a difference, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your CV and answer the questions below. We will be conducting interviews as we receive applications.
