Overview

We are seeking a skilled psychiatrist to join our team as a Staff Specialist in Psychiatry. The successful candidate will be based in New South Wales and work across a Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre and its associated emergency department(s).

About the Role

The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric assessment, treatment, care planning, and clinical oversight of patients using person-centred principles. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and contribute to the development of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients in both settings
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Support the development of mental health services and participate in quality improvement efforts

Requirements

  • Specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent specialist recognition
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements
  • Proven capacity and experience in providing effective high-quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice

  • Competitive base salary: $186,241 - $251,618 dependent on experience
  • Expected salary: $262,376 to $354,479 with allowances
  • Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme up to $10,000 depending on position and location
