Job Description

Burbank is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Coordinator to join our team in Australia.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Professional to manage the delivery of purchasing services to our management and employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing suppliers based on site performance, pricing, and HSE requirements, as well as liaising with suppliers regarding new products, pricing, performance, and other matters.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, including interviewing, counselling, negotiating, and report writing. They will also have the ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organisation in the resolution of estimating issues.

In this role, you will work closely with the Purchasing Manager to provide support and guidance on purchasing-related matters. You will also be responsible for providing training and advice to the business where required in relation to new products and processes.

The Procurement Coordinator will be the first point of contact to the business by suppliers and will be responsible for communicating changes to the National Pricefile Coordinator and the National Estimating Systems Manager when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing suppliers based on site performance, pricing, and HSE requirements;
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding new products, pricing, performance, and other matters;
  • Providing training and advice to the business where required in relation to new products and processes;
  • Communicating changes to the National Pricefile Coordinator and the National Estimating Systems Manager;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma of Building/Construction or Certificate in Building Construction combined with work experience;
  • Well-developed knowledge of, and experience in the application of Estimating and Construction procedures and practices;
  • Ability to interpret plans, details, and project briefs together with policy and procedure;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including interviewing, counselling, negotiating, and report writing;
  • Ability to interact proactively with management and staff at all levels of the organisation in the resolution of estimating issues;
  • Demonstrated competence in conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and control own workload;
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing to a small team, including the capacity to review and improve workplace practices;
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, promote, and uphold Estimating initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality;
  • Ability to contribute towards the development and implementation of Estimating programs and initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation;
  • Well-developed computer literacy skills within a Microsoft Office environment;
  • Working knowledge of computerised Building Database software systems;
