Expert Perioperative Nurse

This role is an exciting opportunity to provide direct comprehensive nursing care and services to patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic operative procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in perioperative nursing, with experience working in the operating theatres, recovery, anaesthetic areas, day of surgery admissions and holding bays.

A key focus of this role is to assess individual patient needs, plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options, and provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve health outcomes for individual patients or groups.

• Provide high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of current research, evidence-based practices and best practices in perioperative nursing.
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

• Registration as a Nurse by the Nursing Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards.
• Effective communication skills, including problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workload efficiently.
• Skills in scrub/scout, recovery, anaesthetic and gastroenterology nursing are highly desirable.
