Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver the debt recovery and enforcement capability for the State, driving innovation and best practice outcomes.
  • Apply best practices and manage legislative functions under the Fines Enforcement and Debt Recovery Act 2017.
  • Enhance citizen education and streamline self-service options while developing funding models for new agencies.
  • Integrate commercial debt collection and provide strategic advice on complex policy matters.
  • Ensure governance and compliance with broader government policies while leading sensitive programs effectively.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in an appropriate field (business, accounting and finance) OR extensive experience in debt recovery (commercial and/or government).
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of high-volume client contact environments.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the role of analytics, modelling and forecasting in a debt recovery environment.
  • Strong leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others to work together as a team to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and articulate strategic direction in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics, EEO and cultural inclusion.
  • An understanding of the legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.
  • An understanding of and ability to manage to the spirit and principles of AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk management – Guidelines.
