Job Description:
  • We are seeking a skilled Personal Care Specialist to join our team in Newcastle, working closely with our customers to provide personalized care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing domestic assistance, including cleaning and maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment for our customers.
  • Assisting with meal preparation and shopping, ensuring our customers' nutritional needs are met.
  • Offering social support and transport to lifestyle activities, promoting independence and engagement.
  • Providing personal care, including bathing, dressing, and managing medication, as well as assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
  • Offering respite and emotional support, providing a sense of comfort and security for our customers.
  • Transporting customers to appointments, ensuring timely access to medical care.
  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of work experience as a support or care worker, including experience with personal care skills.
  • A current P1 class or above Australian Drivers License and a registered vehicle, as travel is an essential part of this role.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations, prioritizing customer needs and satisfaction.
  • Availability to work at least 3 days a week, Monday to Friday, with no night or weekend shifts.
  • Comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to seek guidance from management.
