Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist

A prestigious financial services institution is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist with expertise in Entra ID, Active Directory, and Identity experience.

This is an initial 6 month contract highly likely to extend. You will be part of a large-scale Active Directory transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT System Component Planning: Estimation, design, installation, configuration, integration, and productionising of information technology system components.
  • Tech Solution Deployment: Prioritise rapid, automated, and safe deployment of technical solutions.
  • Production System Support: Lead support and technical troubleshooting responsibilities for production systems.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement for the system and team processes.
  • Automation: Develop and execute PowerShell scripts to automate tasks, monitor system health, and enhance system performance.
  • System Remediation: Remediate performance issues across Entra ID, AD, and related services in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • AD Security: Maintain and improve the security posture of the AD environment by implementing best practices for authentication, access controls, and auditing.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Extensive on-premises AD engineering experience
  • Azure Active Directory (AAD), Modern Authentication, and Authorization protocols
  • Entra ID experience
  • Powershell scripting experience for automation, troubleshooting, and system optimisation
  • Good understanding of general IAM principles and the Microsoft Identity ecosystem
  • Active Directory running in virtualised environments
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of AD security best practices, including user authentication, identity management, and access controls

Desirable:

  • Github/deploying changes via code
