Lead Game Animator

The team is looking for a skilled Game Animator to join our Melbourne-based team in Australia. As a key member of the animation department, you will be responsible for creating complex and believable in-game and cinematic animations that captivate audiences worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

As a senior animator at our studio, your duties will include:

  1. Developing game motions using a combination of motion capture editing and key framing techniques.
  2. Creating engaging character animations that bring stories to life.
  3. Working closely with designers, engineers, and other production teams to ensure seamless collaboration and achieve high-quality visual results.
  4. Collaborating with the animation lead to assign shots and tasks that contribute to the project's success.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Extensive experience in professional animation, preferably as a game animator.
  • In-depth knowledge of cinematic and motion capture editing, as well as cleanup.
  • Strong understanding of animation fundamentals, with a focus on human movement.
  • Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly.
  • Expertise in Maya animation software.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to mentor junior animators and demonstrate leadership qualities.
Nice-to-Haves

While not essential, having the following skills would be beneficial:

  • Knowledge of character creation, including modeling, texturing, and rigging.
  • Interest in participating in live previs shoots to enhance tone, choreography, and pacing.
