Clinical Midwife Specialist

Job Summary

National Health Service NSW Government seeks a skilled and compassionate Registered Midwife to provide high-quality midwifery care to patients at St George Hospital. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in an acute care setting and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive midwifery care to patients, adhering to NSW Health policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
  • Contribute to a supportive and inclusive work environment, promoting the NSW Health CORE values.
Requirements
  • CURRENT registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns when communicating with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety, and quality principles and the role of the Registered Midwife in applying these principles.
  • Demonstrated recent 12 months, extensive post registration experience as a midwife in an acute care setting.
