The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Technician/Operator to join our water team in Bendigo. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the plants to ensure contractual requirements are met while minimizing environmental, public health, and occupational health and safety impacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor plant equipment, processes, and systems to meet operational targets on drinking water treatment plants
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on plant assets
  • Troubleshoot and rectify equipment/process faults and alarms
  • Conduct laboratory testing, analysis, and sample collection
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on plant performance
  • Participate in an on-call roster and attend call-outs as required
  • Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality policies/procedures
  • Assist with plant optimization, commissioning, and reporting activities
  • Provide training and supervision to other operators as needed

Requirements

  • A trade qualification or water treatment operations experience preferred
  • Experience in the maintenance of pumps, pipelines, and other mechanical equipment desirable
  • A general technical/mechanical aptitude
