A senior cyber security specialist plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's digital ecosystem by identifying and mitigating threats, managing risks, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and collaborating across teams to enhance the overall security posture.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in cyber security, hands-on expertise in threat management, risk analysis, and relevant qualifications. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate cyber security operational activities to improve organizational resilience against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Proactively build robust relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various teams and agency counterparts to enhance the overall security posture.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a similar field.
- Proficient in security operations, incident response, SIEM tools, cloud security, and government security frameworks (e.g., NSW CSP, ISM), and industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO27001 and ISMS).
- Extensive experience in cyber security with hands-on experience in threat management, risk analysis, and relevant qualifications (certifications e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA highly desirable).
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
