Professional Investigations Lawyer

The role involves conducting investigations of complaints about lawyers, examining suitability issues and reviewing trust investigation reports. You will be responsible for carrying out the Department's statutory functions under the Uniform Law.
About the Role:
- Conducting investigations expeditiously and in a fair and impartial manner.
- Examining suitability issues relating to a lawyer's fitness to hold a practising certificate.
- Reviewing and analysing trust investigation reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Active case management of complex matters.
- Examination of evidence and drafting relevant statutory notices.
- Liaison with complainants, solicitors and other stakeholders.
- Contribution to policy and educational goals of the Department.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Admission to the Roll of Lawyers and holding or eligible to hold a practising certificate.
- At least 3 years of Post Qualifications Experience.
- Sound knowledge of Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) and related legislation and regulations.
