About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our Fleet and Logistics Unit at Sutherland Shire Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of our diverse fleet assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement scheduled servicing and conduct inspections to ensure the safety and compliance of our vehicles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Work in alignment with manufacturer guidelines and council policies to provide top-notch mechanical services.
  • Assist in other areas of the unit as needed, utilizing your expertise to diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Automotive Engineering (Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Mobile Plant) and a valid MVRIA Mechanic's licence.
  • At least one year of post-trade experience in servicing and repairing heavy vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Class HR Drivers licence and RMS Vehicle Examiners Licence (Heavy Vehicles) are desirable.
  • Experience servicing/repairing a diverse range of vehicles and plant equipment.
