Overview: As a Youth Activities Counselor at HEATHROW COUNTRY CLUB, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our young members by creating engaging and inclusive programs. This role requires a unique blend of creativity, interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and lead activities that promote physical and mental well-being, such as pool activities, events, camps, and holiday celebrations.
  2. Foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere for children and their families by greeting them professionally and ensuring their needs are met.
  3. Assist in event planning, setup, and execution, including decorations, safety checks, and supervision of younger members.
  4. Provide excellent customer service by responding to member inquiries, answering phones, and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
  5. Collaborate with parents to ensure accurate signing-in and out procedures and handle identification verification.
  6. Maintain knowledge of club policies, regulations, and standards to guarantee a secure and efficient environment.
  7. Stay updated on children's allergies and special needs to provide tailored support.
  8. Use sound judgment when supervising children, adhering to all rules and guidelines.
  9. Participate in meal handling and preparation as needed.
  10. Communicate effectively with immediate supervisors about any unforeseen circumstances and respond appropriately.
  11. Ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of the children's playroom, locking it securely when necessary.

Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification mandatory.
  • One year of childcare experience essential.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, internet applications, and office equipment.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate activities and enthusiasm for working with diverse age groups.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to project voice and capture the attention of young members.
  • Capacity to perform a critical role in emergency situations.
  • Work safely, prudently, and efficiently.
  • Effective interaction with members, guests, and staff from various backgrounds, cultures, and education levels.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work hands-on in a dynamic environment.
