Job Title: Advanced Care Specialist

This role involves delivering exceptional pre- and post-operative care to a diverse range of surgical patients, with a focus on upper gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery.

The successful candidate will assess, plan, and implement comprehensive care tailored to each patient's surgical journey, ensuring optimal recovery.

As an Advanced Care Specialist, you'll work closely with surgeons, allied health professionals, and clinical educators to provide holistic, patient-centred care.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Enhancing expertise in surgical nursing, including wound management, pain control, and early detection of complications
  • Providing effective communication and education to support patients and their families throughout their hospital stay
Requirements

To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate must possess:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills in surgical nursing, with a focus on upper gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability, resilience, and a passion for continuous learning
  • Eligibility to work in Australia (citizenship, permanent residency, or eligible visa)
