Oversee Complex Trenchless Installation Projects

At WSP, we're looking for a highly skilled Technical Executive/Principal to lead our team in cutting-edge trenchless installation projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex pipe jacking projects, remediation of large diameter storm-water, water, and wastewater assets, and slip-lining in live condition.

This exciting new role will also see you support innovative Temporary Works and Underground Structure pursuits, as well as work on pipe jacking, micro-tunnelling, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for new services. You'll have exposure to other trenchless and remediation methods throughout Australia and New Zealand's water, wastewater, and tailings spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tender phase support, manage construction staging, and develop and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Share your knowledge and expertise in all stages of the project lifecycle, from conceptual design to construction delivery.
  • Provide technical support and project management by working closely with contractors, specialist subcontractors, other consultants, and clients.
  • Offer solutions and simplify complex designs while enhancing construction methods.
  • Provide technical and practical construction guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
About You

You have a strong technical background and collaborative approach, enabling effective work with contractors, stakeholders, and clients to develop practical, constructable solutions that mitigate design risks.

You also possess:

  • Experience in trenchless installation projects, including micro-tunnelling and sewer rehabilitation.
  • Principal level expertise in the design of micro-tunnel drive specification and curved drive forces.
  • Experience in active sewer environments and HSE issues in those spaces.
  • Understanding of shaft and temporary works to support micro-tunnelling drives.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Chartered Engineer (CPEng).
